I’ve always had an appreciation for architecture and design, but it wasn’t until I purchased my first home which was in desperate need of updating that I discovered my passion for interiors. The challenges and rewards of working on this project inspired me to leave the corporate world and pursue a degree in interior design from Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts. Even before graduation, I established Janet Shea Interiors, and quickly gained accolades from clients for my ability to transform rooms with color, fabric and texture. My greatest love is making it all come together–from making the most of natural light to finding the perfect furnishings. I prefer to work in transitional to contemporary designs, but take pride in my ability to tailor my work to meet the needs and aesthetic views of my clients.  However, my happiest clients have been those who were willing to “break out of their shells a bit” and experiment with new ideas. My work includes residential and small commercial projects.

Philosophy

I look to the past and present for design inspiration.  The classic forms and proportions of timeless design are the cornerstone of my work. I build upon this tradition by incorporating furnishings and finishes with a modern sensibility in both style and function. Today more than ever, I believe that good design should simplify and enhance your life at home and at work.  My mission is to work with you to create an environment that is uniquely yours, personal and thoughtful to your practical needs and aesthetic views.
