An experienced interior designer will not only save you countless hours of research and shopping, but will also alleviate the worry and uncertainty about your decisions. A designer will plan your space, coordinate the details, and help create a beautiful space that reflects your vision. Q. Can I afford an interior designer? A. Yes, working with a professional will likely reduce the risks of costly mistakes and will save you many hours of time looking for the best products and prices for your project, freeing up your time for family, friends, and your work. Q. Is there a fee for the initial consultation? A. No, our first meeting is an opportunity to meet and more importantly to discuss your goals for your project. There is no charge because this is an interview, not intended as a meeting to provide design ideas. However before our meeting it is helpful to gather a few examples of styles, colors, and furniture that appeal to you, giving us a better understanding of your preferences. It is also helpful to have a budget in mind. Q. How do you charge for services? A. Projects are charged by the hour for our work. In addition we charge our clients a small commission for items that are purchased below retail cost through the designer. Q. What is expected of me as the client? A. As with all successful relationships, good communication and commitment are key elements. It is important to share with us your budget, your likes and dislikes, how involved you wish to be and your time frame for completion.
