For all you Anglophiles out there — London’s calling.

Will and Kate got a dog. Pippa’s off the market and Downton Abby is must see TV. We Yanks seem to have an endless fascination with all the happenings across the pond. So, “mind the gap” and jump on board for the latest British invasion.

The Union Jack, the queen’s silhouette, Big Ben and all kinds of British emblems have been a trend in interior design and fashion for few years now and will continue to be especially strong this year.

2012 is a huge year for the Brits. They will celebrate 60 years of the Queen’s reign with the Diamond Jubilee and the world will descend on London in July and August for the summer Olympics. Forget the crazy looking mascots for the Olympics and stick with the classics.

How will you add a little British flair to your decor?

Rustic and industrial furniture is all the rage. These pieces incorporate the use of weather woods, scrap metals and other reclaimed materials — wheels, bottles, wire, you name it.

The charm of these pieces are twofold, appealing to those interested in conservation and recycling as well as opening up the imagination of the pieces’ original form and function.

I have to say, I think this is my absolutely most favorite transformation.
Just goes to show you what can be done when you start out with a chair with a great frame.

Quatrefoil speaks to me. it’s one of my favorite graphic designs. Is it the symmetry, the softness of the semicircles creating the pattern, the timeless appeal? Or all the above.
